We see finance professionals gain successful admission to programmes across our Masters portfolio. However, for those with a concentrated interest in finance, there are two programmes that have been created specifically for those at a pre- or post-experience stage in their careers.
Depending on the programme you choose to study there are opportunities to take your experience global via a Global Experience or a Global Immersion Elective.
Led by expert faculty, Global Experiences follow one of the following themes: Finance, Technology, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Luxury or Sustainability & Social Impact. You will spend an intensive, immersive week, gaining an in-depth view of a country’s business culture via company visits, expert panels, workshops and guest speakers. You’ll interact meaningfully with major corporations, micro-entrepreneurs, faculty, alumni and others in the LBS global community. “
Finance is a core strand of our School and we are fortunate to have one of the most respected finance faculties in the world. With two pre-eminent finance programmes and more than a quarter of our MBA class, in total, more than 40% of all London Business School’s full-time students go on to pursue a career in finance post-graduation. We work closely with companies, offering a suite of options to connect to students, whether that is coming on campus to present, attending a careers fair, hosting office events or simply posting a job to the appropriate community.
Since the global financial crisis, we have seen a significant growth in Buy Side careers for students, with a tripling of the number of students entering private equity annually over the last decade. Our annual Buy Side Networking Evening, held each spring, brings together alumni from asset management, hedge funds and private equity to network with each other and to meet current students. The Finance Careers team also facilitate upwards of 20 treks a year, focusing on different sectors or geographies, which are regularly supported by our alumni community. These are a great chance to hear from investment professionals about recent investments and develop a network.
