Bio:
Milind Goel is a doctoral candidate in Management Science and Operations (MSO) at the London Business School (LBS), with a concentration in financial economics. His research agenda is sustainability and climate risk. He applies deep learning and econometric techniques on big and alternative data to address questions around these themes. Milind’s work has been selected in several conferences, such as the ESG Investing Research Conference (Cornell), INFORMS Annual Meeting (Pheonix), BS4CL Climate Leadership Research Conference (IESE), Conference on Ageing and Sustainable Finance (ZEW), and Trans-Atlantic Doctoral Conference (LBS). Through his research, Milind hopes to augment the motto of the London Business School with one word: to have a profound impact on the way the world does business “sustainably”.
Milind is an expert in Python and brewing coffee. He has worked as a senior data scientist and artificial intelligence consultant for defense, green energy, financial technology, and urban design companies. He was awarded the Founders’ Award by the LBS Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and was selected as a Young Leader by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Center of Real Estate). He holds a black belt in traditional full-contact karate, and spends his spare time putting his undergraduate degree in architecture to good use: drawing anatomical sketches and exploring London’s hidden alleyways. Milind still holds his architectural license, a fact endearingly exploited by his colleagues!
