The Chairman of the National Bank of Oman will address students at London Business School on The Future of Islamic Finance in London and Beyond.

Mohammed Mahfoodh Al Ardhi will speak to students at London Business School on Monday 20 October. Mr Al Ardhi has been a Director of the National Bank of Oman since March 2011, and is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Credit Committee of the Board.

Mr Al Ardhi said: "London has a long and illustrious history of facilitating trade and finance across the world. It has shown itself to be capable of supporting a range of financial markets that lead the world in innovation and scale. Furthermore, the UK and Oman have an equally long and successful history of shared experiences and opinions.

“While Islamic financial markets in the region are continuing to develop, they will require a counter party who will assist in their development. Given London's history of financial market management, and current position within Islamic finance, just behind Malaysia, I believe London can play an important role in this development."

The event has been organised by the London Business School Middle East Club.

The National Bank of Oman (NBO) recently enlisted London Business School to provide executive education and leadership development to its mid to senior leaders. The School was also appointed by National Technology Enterprises Company (NTEC) and Oman Oil Company last year for its customised leadership programmes.
