London Business School (LBS) Professor of Accounting Florin Vasvari will receive the American Account Association’s (AAA) 2023 Distinguished Contributions to Accounting Literature Award.

Professor Vasvari and his co-authors Peter M. Clarkson, Yue Li, Gordon D. Richardson have been recognised for their research ‘Revisiting the relation between environmental performance and environmental disclosure: An empirical analysis’ and ‘Does it really pay to be green? Determinants and consequences of proactive environmental strategies’.

According to the AAA, the Distinguished Contributions to Accounting Literature Award recognises “accounting research based on uniqueness and magnitude of contribution to accounting education, practice and/or future accounting research, originality and innovative content, clarity and organization of exposition and soundness and appropriateness of methodology.”

In addition to serving as Chair of the Accounting faculty at LBS, Professor Vasvari is co-Academic Director of the School’s Institute of Entrepreneurship and Private Capital and currently serves as an Editor at the AAA’s The Accounting Review. With Professor Eli Talmor, he co-authored Private Capital (vol. 1 Funds and vol. 2. Investments) in 2019. He also co-authored International Private Equity in 2011 with Professor Talmor.

Professor Vasvari will receive the award on 8 August 2023 at the 2023 AAA Annual Meeting in Colorado, United States.
