London Business School (LBS) has launched a new online course focussed on decoding the world of finance and technology.

Fintech Forward: Strategies for Incumbents and Startups’ equips participants with key industry insights and skills to successfully harness the promise of fintech.

The first iteration of the course begins 21 September.

Led by Gary Dushnitsky, Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at LBS, and Paul Christensen, co-founder and CEO of AI platform Previse, course participants:

  • gain an understanding of the current fintech landscape and key technological innovations, including big data and AI;
  • learn the secrets behind some of today’s most successful fintech organisations and how to apply them to different contexts;
  • conduct fintech experiments alongside peers from both incumbent and startup organisations; and
  • develop a fintech forward proposal for capturing future industry trends.

Guest speakers include trailblazing startup founders Romi Savova, founder and CEO of PensionBee, Lance Uggla, founder and CEO of MarkIT, Vlad Yatsenko, co-founder and CTO of Revolut, as well as fintech leaders within established firms, including Paul Pester, former CEO of TSB, and Tom Jessop, President of Fidelity Brokerage and founder of Fidelity Digital Assets.

Ideal for those seeking the flexibility of self-paced learning, ‘Fintech Forward’ develops participants’ knowledge through more than 15-hours of recorded content, as well as access to a dedicated learning manager and global peer network of fellow participants operating in the fintech space

Dr Dushnitsky said the course would empower business leaders to extract value from financial technologies.

“The fintech space offers organisations huge potential for growth. But, as a rapidly evolving sector, it’s all too easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information out there.

“’Fintech Forward’ cuts through that noise, while also bringing together professionals from established and emerging organisations as part of a rich knowledge exchange.”
