LBS welcomes its new class intake for 2022-23

London Business School (LBS) is welcoming new and returning students to its London and Dubai campuses for the start of the 2022/23 academic year.

More than 1,378* new students representing more than 106 nationalities have joined the LBS community in the last few weeks, with more joining over the coming 12 months.

Many students, particularly from our MBA, MiF and EMBA programmes, bring with them a wide spectrum of work experience, from sectors comprising sports, consulting, energy, finance, healthcare, the military and social impact sectors. Just some of the interesting and varied backgrounds joining us this year are:

• A sommelier within a family wine business
• Medical doctors, a vet and a dentist
• A professional ballet dancer
• A British Olympic medallist in cycling
• Two women on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list
• A research scientist and immunologist
• A former professional American football player.

Highlights from this year’s incoming classes to date** include:

• 288 Masters in Management (MiM)/Global Masters in Management (GMiM) students, 53% of whom are women 
• 210 Masters in Financial Analysis students representing 54 nationalities
• 81 Masters in Analytics and Management (MAM) students of whom 54% are women
• 509 MBA 2024 students representing 74 nationalities (up from 68 last year) and with an average of 5.6 years’ work experience behind them
• 139 Masters in Finance students representing 45 nationalities
• 49 part-time Masters in Finance students representing 22 nationalities
• 55 Executive MBA (EMBA) London (September intake) students representing 26 nationalities; 45% of whom are commuters***;, bringing with them on average 14 years’ experience
• 48 EMBA Dubai (September intake) students representing 21 nationalities; 60% of whom are commuters, bringing with them on average 14 years’ experience.

Arnold Longboy, Executive Director Recruitment and Admissions says, “The uptake for our programmes this year has remained reassuringly strong, despite a decline in applications across the sector, attributed in part to high employment levels in the USA and the UK. We are particularly proud to note that women on London Business School’s Masters in Management and Masters in Analytics and Management programmes are well represented, with 54% and 53% of students respectively who are women.”

“We are also pleased to see that, since the easing of travel restrictions, our Executive programmes are accessible to an ever-growing number of commuters, up year-on-year from 36% to 48% on our London campus, and from 45% to 60% in Dubai,” he added.

***Both EMBA London and Dubai are part-time programmes which require travel for those students not residing in London or Dubai, hence use of the term ‘commuters’
