LBS signs collaboration with OpenAI
New agreement provides access to ChatGPT Edu to members of the School community
London Business School (LBS) has collaborated with OpenAI, a leader in artificial intelligence (AI), to provide its ChatGPT Edu product to members of its community.
ChatGPT Edu provides an enhanced experience on Open AI’s ChatGPT platform, providing access to OpenAI’s latest models (GPT-4o, o1and o1-mini), extended message length limits, and advanced security and data privacy features. The platform also offers a valuable resource for streamlining administrative, creative and research-related tasks.
Significantly, ChatGPT Edu provides enhanced intellectual property protection for LBS, with an assurance that data inputs will not be used to train OpenAI models.
ChatGPT Edu will be made available to members of faculty and PhD students as part of a phased rollout.
Danny Attias, Chief Digital and Information Officer at LBS, said the new collaboration would ensure the School remained abreast of latest digital and AI innovations shaping the world today.
“ChatGPT Edu will give our researchers, academics and students access to world-leading AI technologies to support their work, and provide hugely important access to data privacy and security measures,” he said.
Leah Belsky, GM of Education at OpenAI, said: "We’re excited to see how LBS will use this powerful technology to accelerate research, personalise learning and drive productivity. With the roll out of ChatGPT Edu, LBS is enabling faculty and students to benefit from AI now and equipping them with the skills for an AI driven future.”
The announcement follows a visit by the LBS Tech Club to OpenAI’s San Francisco headquarters in November. As part of the club’s Silicon Valley Trek, 20 MBA, Masters in Finance and Masters in Management students learned about go-to-market strategy and saw ChatGPT in action.
