Professor Hélène Rey awarded the insignia of Chevalier in the Ordre national du Mérite

French Ambassador to the UK, Hélène Tréheux-Duchêne, awards Professor Rey the Ordre national du Mérite

Professor Hélène Rey has been awarded the insignia of Chevalier in the Ordre national du Mérit.

French Ambassador to the UK Hélène Tréheux-Duchêne awarded Professor Rey the Ordre national du Mérite in a ceremony at the French embassy that recognised the fields of humanities and social sciences.

London Business School's Professor Rey is the Lord Bagri Professor of Economics, OBE, FBA CEPR and NBER. Hélène Rey's research focuses on international macroeconomics and finance with special emphasis on financial stability, international capital flows, exchange rates and the international monetary system.

Professor Katie Scott also received an award during the ceremony. Professor Scott retired from The Courtauld Institute of Art in 2023. She is one of the world’s leading specialists on French art and architecture of the seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries.

The Ordre national du Mérite comprises about 185,000 members; 306,000 members have been admitted or promoted in 50 years. Half of its recipients are required to be women.
