Jessica Spungin

Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship

Jessica Spungin has years of experience and expertise in the translation of strategy into action, to help deliver strategic change. As an Adjunct Professor at London Business School (LBS), she has taught the Strategy Elective and Core Strategy and Leadership class for the Masters in Finance, Executive MBA and Sloan Masters Programmes. She received the Best Teacher Award, for the Sloan classes of 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. On degree programmes, she also teaches an elective in Strategic Innovation, and is core faculty for the experiential project classes London Cap and London Lab. 

Jessica is a regular contributor to Executive Education programmes to clients such as Aviva, IBM, Ericsson and Nordea. She has designed, led and run many client-tailored workshops and training events during the last 15 years. She also works as an independent consultant across a variety of industries where she specialises in working with CEOs to ensure their strategy and organisational choices are aligned.

Between 1996 and 2010, she worked at McKinsey and Company, and became a partner in 2003. In her client work, she contributed at the most senior levels of some of the largest multinational companies in the world, as well as leading government departments and agencies. Before she left, she was the leader of McKinsey’s Organisation Design service line for Europe.

In 1996, she earned an MBA with Distinction from LBS and has a degree in Politics Philosophy and Economics from St Hilda’s College Oxford. Prior to gaining her MBA, Jessica worked in Citibank – in London and New York – where she was a product manager across a number of areas in Transaction and Corporate Banking.
