Muhammed Mekki

Muhammed Mekki joins LBS as a Teaching Fellow of Strategy & Entrepreneurship for the school's 'Developing Entrepreneurial Opportunities' and ‘Managing Digital Organisations’ courses, as well as Executive Education topics in corporate innovation.

Dr Mekki has been actively building the Middle Eastern entrepreneurial ecosystem since 2011. He first co-founded the e-commerce company Namshi, which was acquired in 2017 in one of the largest venture-backed exits in the MENA region. He is now a Founding Partner at AstroLabs, the leading business expansion platform in the Gulf, which has established over 1,500 innovative businesses across Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Educated first at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, followed by the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Dr Mekki then travelled to London to achieve his PhD in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SOAS.
