Strengthening the alumni community
The Alumni Council supports the School to strengthen the alumni network as well as to represent the perspectives and values of the School’s 55,000 global alumni community. They represent a cross-section of degree programmes, geographies, industries, and tenures. The Council serves as a primary point of feedback to the LBS faculty and staff on the needs of the alumni community and aims to support initiatives that support the competitive position of the School and build a lifelong sense of pride and belonging.
Note from the Alumni Council Chair
It is my honour to represent you and to work with all of our Alumni Council members to support our community. My time at LBS was a life-changing experience for which I am always grateful. I hope to bring the same sense of pride, enrichment and belonging to you, and to everyone we represent, including those students who have yet to join us. The Alumni Council represents alumni perspectives on strategic initiatives within the School and seeks to raise the profile of LBS alumni around the world. We provide guidance to the Dean, the Governing Body, the Advancement team and other school departments, advocating for our alumni and their viewpoints. Our Council members represent alumni from all walks of life, though each of us has a passion for and a history of volunteering with the School. Above all, our Council members are here for you. We want to help to make our alumni community more cohesive and productive, as well as to serve as a central point for feedback on what additional services and opportunities the alumni base requires. Please reach out to us with questions or suggestions on how to increase our sense of community.

Alumni Council recruitment 2025
The Alumni Council comprises a group of approximately 25 members recruited from within the alumni volunteer community as well as four ex officio member(s) including the Dean, the Associate Dean for Advancement, the Executive Director, Alumni Engagement and the current serving Alumni Representative from the Student Association.
Alumni Council terms of office are for three years. Members may serve up to two terms, but this cannot be done consecutively. The Council meets in person once per year in London (two days in October) and a further three times per year virtually (90 minutes). In addition to attending all Council meetings, members are expected to serve as ambassadors for the School, participate in initiatives, undertake personal commitments and donate to the School annually.
Each year, positions on the Alumni Council become vacant as members complete their terms of office. The recruitment priorities are aligned with the School’s strategic priorities and are reviewed annually ahead of each recruitment cycle to ensure that the Alumni Council meets the current and future needs of the School and alumni community. Further details on the School’s strategic priorities can be found in the Five Foundations as outlined by the Dean.
2025 Nomination and Appointment Process
It is worth noting that this year, the Council has three women who complete their terms in July include representatives from the Middle East and Africa. Although we welcome all applications, female applicants will be given priority. This is to ensure we continue to support our drive for gender parity. The quality and suitability of applicants, regardless of gender, will remain paramount.

- knowledge, skills and experience in artificial intelligence and/or sustainability
- non-UK (or dual-UK) passport holders
