Treeapp, a platform that enables brands to pay for reforestation projects around the world through the marketing of their products, is in the news once again.

The founders of the platform have made it onto the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Impact List for Europe.

Founders Jules Buker, Leo Ng and Godefroy Harito have made it onto the list of founders and co-founders of businesses and non-profit organisations that have had a profound social impact over the past year.

The trio, who met as LBS Masters in Management (MiM) students, bonded over their shared desire to make sustainable thinking a reality and enable people from all walks of life to participate in re-greening the planet.

What they came up with was a revolutionary new app designed to allow anyone to plant a tree for free, every day, in less than a minute.

The LBS graduates launched their streamlined solution in the face of the growing threat of deforestation in April 2020. The UK-based entrepreneurs - Leo was born in Hong Kong, while Jules and Godefroy originally hail from France - allows its more 100,000 users to plant a tree every day for free with the only requirement to watch a 30-second advertisement.

More than one million trees have been planted to date through this method.

TreeApp has also created over 300 jobs in local communities. It has forged partnerships with companies like L'Occitane and Hello Fresh, and is valued at GBP 10 million with plans for global expansion underway.

The planting is undertaken by global NGO partners, who make certain every tree planted benefits endemic species and local communities.
