London Business School (LBS) is pleased to announce a historic gift from SKYY Development, a leading Japan-focused data centre developer founded and led by alumnus Edward ‘Ted’ Higase Sloan22.

The company has established the £2m ‘SKYY Development Scholarship’ programme to encourage people from technology backgrounds to pursue an MBA or to encourage people into technology post-MBA.

It is the largest-ever donation to the School from a Japanese organisation.

Associate Dean for Advancement Emily A. Robin said: “Ted and SKYY Development are investing in future business leaders who will push boundaries and drive real-world transformation through innovation across the globe. This generous gift reflects the global nature of our alumni community, and London Business School’s aim to positively impact business and the world.”

Ted Higase, the Founder and CEO of SKYY Development, credits the Sloan programme at LBS with enhancing his business perspectives.

Ted said: “It’s a pleasure to give back to LBS, a place that has enriched my business knowledge and seamlessly integrated it into my technology-focused career. This scholarship aims to support talented individuals from the tech world who require financial assistance to access a world-class business education. By investing in future leaders with both technical expertise and business acumen, we can drive innovation at the intersection of tech and business, shaping the next generation of success.”

Alumni supporters like Ted Higase have a lasting impact on the global business landscape, shaping the diverse boardrooms of the future and driving the progress the world needs.

By attracting the best and the brightest students in technology, and increasing the diversity in LBS's classrooms, his impact will be felt on and through business for generations to come.

Donors from Japan can now join SKYY Development and Ted by contributing via the newly established tax-efficient scheme.
