LBS welcomes new Dean François Ortalo-Magné
François Ortalo-Magné succeeds Sir Andrew Likierman as Dean of London Business School
François Ortalo-Magné has become Dean of London Business School (LBS). His appointment was announced in July 2016, after a comprehensive search led by global executive search firm Egon Zehnder. He joins LBS from the University of Wisconsin School of Business where he was Dean from 2011 to 2017.
“I have long admired London Business School,” says Ortalo-Magné. “Over the past year, I have grown in my appreciation for the world-class faculty and staff Sir Andrew brought together, and for our engaged community of students and alumni who are so ambitious for the School.”
During his time at Wisconsin, Ortalo-Magné grew and strengthened the faculty, raised substantial funds, improved the student experience and enhanced the organisation’s brand. He brought inclusion and diversity as well as educational innovation to the fore at the University of Wisconsin and within the business education community.
The Hon Apurv Bagri, Chairman of LBS’s Governing Body and Managing Director of Metdist Group, said: “François is ideally placed to take us forward and build on the great work carried out by Sir Andrew. The School goes from strength to strength and I’m confident that François will continue to enhance its reputation for academic excellence and the delivery of world-class degree and executive education programmes.”
